Fr Afonso da Costa was a Portuguese national born in Faro in 1681. He was selected by a provision of the Viceroy Vasco Fernandes Cesar de Menezes to work towards the liberation of the Chins ( Chinese) coming from Macau into the City of Goa. Fr Afonso da Costa was also the Professor of Morals at Rachol Seminary. He was also Vicar of Loutulim, Rachol and Cortalim as well as Rector of Rachol Seminary in 1735 as well as the Rector of the College of the Holy Spirit. Margao.
Fr Adolfo Joviano Castro Viegas was the first chaplain of the Chapel of St Rita of Cassia, Maina Curtorim from 1956 onward. Fr Adolfo Joviano Castro Viegas became the first Vicar of St Rita of Cassia Church, Maina, Curtorim, Goa when the chapel was elevated to the the status of a Church. He was also Parish priest of Penha de Franca and was appointed Parish priest of See Cathedral Parish, Old Goa. He was relieved of the post with deep appreciation for his service on 7 March 2006.
He was the Vicar at Camurlim in Bardez, followed by Cortalim and later at Loutolim. He was the Chaplain at Tuem and became the first Vicar at the Church of Camurlim.
