Priests

Fr Jose Excelso Leitao was a Goan priest who worked in the Goan Church of Batim as the Vicar and in the parish of St Andrew, Goa Velha. The Batim Church and the Goa Velha churches are among some of the older Goan Churches in Goa.  He was a native of Neura, Goa. He passed away in 1805.

Fr Jose Felix Filomeno Dias was a native of Vaddem, Mormugao, Goa. He worked as the chaplain of Olaulim and later at Santa Inez, Goa followed by the Church of Loutulim, Goa. He celebrated his first mass at St Andrew’s Church in Mormugao on 11th November 1941. He died on 13 March 1986.

Fr Jose Francisco Honorato Monteiro was a native of Sao Matias, Goa. He was the Chaplain of the Mae de Deus Chapel at Sangolda, Goa. He died on 10th November 1999 at Pune and was buried there.

Fr Jose Filipe Custodio Soares was a Goan priest who worked in the Goan Church of Batim and Sao Jacinto as the Vicar. The Batim Church and the San Jacinto Church are among the older Goan Churches in Goa.  He was a native of Loutulim, Goa. He passed away on 23 September 1946 at Loutulim. During his tenure at Batim he was assisted by Fr Elvidio de Placencio Menezes and Fr Antonio Tomas A Lobo.

Fr Jose Filipe de Andrade was a Goan Diocesan Priest who worked in the Goan Church of Our Lady of Grace at Madel, Chorao, Goa as the Vicar. The Our Lady of Grace Church at Chorao, Goa was built in 1551 and is among the older Goan Churches in the archdiocese. The Chorao Church at Madel is dedicated to Our Lady of Grace. He then worked as the Vicar at the Church of Sao Braz (St Blaise) at Gandaulim, Goa. The St Blaise Church in Goa was built in 1563. He was a native of Calangute, Goa. He was relieved at his request on 18 August 1915. He died in Calangute on 27 January 1918.

Fr Jose Filipe Francisco Quadros was a Diocesan Priest who worked as the Vicar in the Church of Our Lady of Ajuda (Help), Ribandar, Goa. The Our Lady of Ajuda ( Help) Church at Ribandar was built in the Sixteenth Century. He was a native of Raia, Goa. He was previously the Chaplain at Sirlim, Chinchinim, Goa.  He later worked in the Church of Nuvem, Goa.
