Frei Jose da Grasa was the son of Luis Pedro Falcao and Ana Severina do Vale from Lisbon in the Parish of Anjos. He was a Reader of Philosophy and Theology. He was the Professor of Rethoric in the the University of Sao Roque de Goa. He was also the Rector of Colegio do Populo de Goa, Vicar general of the bisphoric of Mylapore, Vicar of Calcutta. He also worked in the Royal Chapel of St Anthony in Old Goa. He died in Madras when he was the governor of the Bisphoric of Mylapore on 13th July 1819 and was buried in the sanctuary of the Se de Meliapor.
