Frei Paulo de Santa Catarina was a Dominican Missionary and the first Vicar of the Our Lady of the Rosary Church at Curca, Goa. He was the Vicar of the Curca church till his death. He was continously involved in the works of the church and in setting the foundation of the church in Curca. On 24th February 1651, the foundation stone of the Curca church was laid. The first mass in the church at Curca was celebrated on 29th June 1690. In attendance for the mass was the Governor of the Estado da India, D Filipe de Mascarenhas and Frei Augusto de Magalhaes, the Deputy of the Holy See.
