Fr Belchior da Silva was a Diocesan Priest who worked as the Vicar in the Church of Sao Braz (St Blaise) at Gandaulim and later at Santa Ana, Talaulim, Goa. He was a knowledgeable Goan Clergy. Archbishop Menezes resolved to send Fr Belchior to those places which the mission was not very successful and achieve better results. He then secretly moved to Diu and crossed across the borders and preached to the Poor in the surrounding areas. The first priest in 40 years to reach there.
