Brief Historical Background:
The Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament is a clerical religious institute of pontifical right, founded in 1856 by St. Peter Julian Eymard in France. The congregation was established in India on the occasion of the 38th International Eucharistic Congress held in Bombay in 1964.
