Brief Historical Background:
Vicenta Maria Lopez Vicunna, from Spain, founded the Religious of Mary Immaculate in1876, to fulfil a crying need in the industrialised world of her time: young women who, because of economic difficulties and lack of education and skills, had to move away from home and engage in domestic work in big cities.
