Brief Historical Background:
The congregation of the Poor Sisters of Our Lady was founded in the year 1939, by Monsignor George Fernandes in the Diocese of Bombay. In the year 1999 the congregation was granted the Pontifical Right and the Sisters are engaged in educational, social, medical and pastoral work in India, Italy, Austria and Switzerland.
