ISHAPREMA SISTERS (L.V.S.)
(ISHAPREMA VINAMRA SEVIKA)

In Goa since 1966

Brief Historical Background:
Ishaprema – Vinamra – Sevika (The Humble Servants of God’s Love) is a Pious Association of Women, co-founded by Fr. Vasco do Rego S.J. and Mataji Nirmala in Pune, in the year 1961. It is called to reveal the Father’s love for each person, especially for the neediest, the rejected, the abandoned and the marginalized. The first Ishaprema Niketan – Home of God’s Love – as their homes are known, was opened in a garage, in Padamji Park, Pune. Eighteen months later, it was shifted to a bigger bungalow nearby. The Association has two houses in Goa, since 1966. They care for the old, the handicapped girls and the little ones of poor working mothers.
