The Xaverian Educational Society of the Pilar Fathers runs the Miracles High School, Sanguem, Goa. Miracles high School was set up to cater to the educational needs of the residents of Sanguem and the surrounding areas. These being mining areas and rural villages, it was important to impart education to the children of the villagers and hence the need for a good school was felt. This need was fulfilled by setting up of Miracles High School, Sanguem, Goa.
The current manager of the school is Fr Pascoal Fernandes sfx and the headmaster is Fr. Pio Furtado sfx. The Miracles High School, Sanguem, Goa follows the motto of “the key to success is hardwork, determination and belief in oneself”. The relentless efforts of the students under the able guidance of the teachers has enabled Miracles High School, Sanguem, Goa to scale great heights in academics, co-curricular activities and extra curricular activities, on and off the field and on and off the stage at various levels in the state and at national levels.
The school maintains a vibrant atmosphere for the students through assembly which includes singing, dancing, acting, reciting poems, riddles and so on while ensuring the participation of every child in the activities. This gives an opportunity for every child to build his self confidence, learn values, team work and display their talents.
Miracles High School, Sanguem, Goa has commenced on a horticulture project “Agriculture is a profession of hope” which has been started with a view to develop in the students a love for farming and a sense of dignity of labour. Horticulture plots are distributed to each class and 15 different types of vegetables are grown in the respective plots.
