Constâncio Floriano de Faria was born in the village of Loutulim, Salcete, Goa. He was a doctor in theology from the University of Coimbra. He was a religious member of the convent of St Domingos in Goa and he went to Portugal in 1840 as the chaplain of the frigate D. Pedro. He was a student of theology from 1848 and due to his extra ordinary performance, he was appointed as a faculty of theology by the decree of 1 April 1856. He passed away in October 1872 at the hospital of S Jose in Lisbon.
