Casheanat Trimbaca Tilang with origins in Goa was a distinguished and learned professional. He had a Masters degree in arts and a degree in law where he secured a first class in both subjects. He was a good speaker and barrister. In 1869, he published an article ” An examination of sir Isaac Newtons rule for finding the number of imaginary roots in an equation with geometrical and mechanical theorem and a trigonometrical formula’. He developed a reputation for solving complex Geometric problems, the solutions of which were even published in the newspapers in Europe.
