The first Christian chapel in Vaidongor was a small chapel of the Holy Cross built on a hillock at Kotta. This Chapel was built soon after the Portuguese conquered Pernem in 1788. On the same site, the Catholic devotees of Vaidongor built a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Rosary. The Vaidongor Chapel was blessed in March 1868. The Vaidongor Chapel was affiliated to the Parish of the Pernem Church. The Vaidongor Chapel was rebuilt in 1923 and elevated to a parochial church of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Vaidongor on April 15, 1939.
