The Our Lady of Livra Febres Church, Consua is a popular Church in Goa called ‘Nossa Senhora de Livra Febres Igreja em Consua, Goa’ in Portuguese. The Our Lady of Livra Febres Church, Consua, Goa is also locally known locally amongst Goan Churches as ‘The Consua Church’ in Goa. The Consua church was originally a chapel dedicated to the patronage of Our Lady of Libra Febres. The Consua chapel was built in 1718 and was originally a part of the parish of Cortalim. The Consua chapel was made a separate parish in 1960. The name ‘Livra Febres’ literally means ‘relief from fevers’. It is believed that the church was built as the sponsor of the church had attained relief from sever fevers he would be suffering from. Ever since then, petitions are placed to the patron of the Church ‘ Our Lady of Livra Febres’ to gain relief from ill health, especially fevers.
The Number of Catholics in the Consua Parish is estimated to be around 800.
