Santa Cruz church celebrates 450 years

The Santa Cruz church will be celebrating 450 years of its inception. The magnificent edifice, the only replica in miniature of Se Cathedral of Old Goa is the creation of the religious order of Dominicans.

The church also celebrates the feast of its patron Holy Cross on May 4 in pomp and gaiety.

Various entertainments are organized at the jubilee fete from May 1 to May 4.Various artists like Alfred Rose and Rita Rose, Andre, S Lemos, Kenny M are scheduled to release their cassettes at the fete.

Another feature of the fete is the segregation of Konkani, Portuguese and folk dance programmes, Nach’ea Gaum’ea on May 1, Saudades on May 2 and Nostalgia on May 3 respectively.
