Platinum jubilee-St. Bartholomew’s High School , Chorao

 

The inaugural ceremony of the Platinum jubilee of St. Bartholomew’s High School , Chorao was celebrated with great enthusiasm and exuberance on 26th February 2019 to cherish the 75 years of glorious achievements and reminisce the marvellous ways in which the institution has fulfilled its mission in imparting value based education, empowering young minds to dare to dream, transforming lives and building responsible citizens.

St. Bartholomew’s High School was founded by late Fr. Antonio Elias Piedade Da Gama in 1944, catering tremendously for the cause of education on the island.

The Chief Guest His Grace Rev. Filipe Neri Ferrao, Archbishop of Goa and Daman, was welcomed with an Indian classical dance by the students, who later released 75 ballons as mark of inaugurating jubilee celebrations. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr. Zeferino D’Souza, President of DSE, Fr. Jesus Rodrigues, Secretary of DSE, Fr. Savio D’Souza, Parish Priest of St. Bartholomew’s Church, Chorao, Fr. Norbert D’Silva, Manager of- St. Bartholomew’s High School, Chorao, Fr. Elvis Rodrigues, Fr. Leo Fernandes, Fr. Joseph Estrocio, Fr. Barry Cardozo and Fr. John Fernandes.

The Eucharistic Celebration was followed by the blessing and unveiling the statues of the school patron saint, St. Bartholomew’s and the late founder Rev. Fr. Antonio Elias Piedade De Gama, at the hands of His Grace Mosr Rev. Felipe Neri Ferrao. The synergizing 75 years were manifested through a heart stirring cultural programme. The Manager, Fr. Norbert welcomed the August gathering and a floral bouquet was presented by the Head boy, Ancilo Da Cruz to the Chief Guest.

Addressing the gathering, the Archbishop emphasized the significant role played by the teachers in the mission of education, nurturing young minds, educating them, developing their character and training them to be future leaders. The Headmistress Mrs Aveline Dancho proposed the vote of thanks.

In remembrance of the Platinum jubilee celebrations, Fr. Norbert D’Silva presented a memento the Chief Guest and to the Parish priest. The Chief Guest than presented mementos to the teaching and non-teaching staff of St. Bartholomew’s High School and other dignitaries.
