Fr. Leonardo Morais appointed as new parish Priest at Tilamola Church
The Tilamona Church, Our Lady, Mother of the Poor Church, which is known as ‘Nossa Senhora, Mae Dos Pobres Igreja em Tilamola, Goa in Portuguese will be bestowed by a new Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Leonardo Jeronimo Morais this coming Pastoral year as per the ordinance no: CP-P/23/2019 . Fr. Leonardo was born in Veroda on 9th October 1955. He was ordinated a Priest on 5th May 1984.
Tilamona church parishoners should be thrilled to have Fr Leonardo as their Parish Priest as he is not only a spritual person but also a visionary. He is famous for getting the old made into new or rebuilt. He rebuilt the famous Holy Trinity Church Benaulim as well as the Our Lady of Snows School in the Parish Our Lady of Snows Raia all of which with the help of Parishoners and his assistant Priests throught the years.
Prior to him joining the Tilamona Church he was the Parish priest of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, Moira, Goa. He served the Parish for 1 year. Prior to this he was the Parish Priest of Our Lady of Snows Raia, Our Lady of Rosary Navelim, Holy Trinity church Benaulim and so on.
Fr. Leonardo has vast Knowledge of the scriptures as well as hymns sung for mass, he engages with the choir groups very frequently teaching as well as learning old and new tunes from them. His affinity towards the youth is what sets him apart from other Priests. Even though he has grown old he will try to mix with the youth and help them with their activities in the youth group. According to him he learns a lot from the youth and the activities they conduct. Even though strict at times, his sense of humor doesn’t fail to impress even the the bystander. He has done wonders wherever he has gone and Tilmona Church might witness it soon this coming Pastoral year.
He will be joined by Rev. Fr. João Francisco Coelho has been appointed as the Assistant to the Parish Priest of the Parish this coming Pastoral year in accordance to ordinance no CP-P/85/2019. Fr. Joao was born in Arambol on 6th September 1980 and was ordinated into Priesthood in 2010.
