Explanation of the Pastoral Letter 2019-20

Pastoral Letter Theme: “GO AND DO LIKEWISE

                                                                                                                                                                                 (Lk 10: 37)

 

  1. The luminous circle represents the radiance of God the Father, which enlightens every human person to love and serve humanity.
  2. The extended hand is of Jesus, God the Son, who invites us to reach out and share our resources with the poor and the needy.
  3. The dove symbolises the Holy Spirit, God the Holy Spirit, who strengthens us with his gifts and fruits to carry on his mission.
  4. Rays: We, Christ’s faithful, are sent out to live out His mandate, “Go and do likewise.”
  5. Dark silhouettes: We choose to empathize and reach out to the needy, the wounded, the marginalized and the disadvantaged, irrespective of class, creed, caste or race.

The Pastoral letter was released on 2nd June 2019 by Rev. Dr. Filipe Neri Ferrão Archbishop of Goa and Daman. at the release of the Pastoral letter at the St. Cristo Rei Hall, Borda, Margao his Grace stated that it is our responsibility in the light of the faith to spread the goodness of God to others. The Parable of the good Samaritan challenges us to go and do likewise to uphold human dignity, to witness the compassion of God and to give alms to the poor and the needy. He told the faithful to continue for providing funds to help the needy.
