Fr Boniface Mendes passes away

Rev Fr Boniface(Bonnie) Mendes 63 years, Son of late Cosmo Augustine and Christalina Mendes of Pomburpa expired in Nagpur, following a brief illness.

Fr Boniface of the secular order is among the three sons of the same family to join priesthood, the other being Fr Joe Mendes, and Fr Felix Menes both belonging to the Fransalians order.

Ordained priest in Nagpur in 1963, the deceased was due to complete 38 years of priesthood next month. His area of ministry was Nagpur archdiocese where he used to work with the poor in the mission areas of Mansur, Padri Khanna Umrer. Currently, he was serving as the novice master at St Joseph’s Novitiate in Kampte.
