Frei Joao da Encarnasao was born as Joao de Azevedo. He was the son of De Agostinho de Azevedo Monteiro and of D Pascoal Pereira de Sousa from Panelim, Parish of Ilha de Goa. he was the sub prior of the Convent of Grasa de Goa in 1753. Definitor of the Congregation in 1762. He worked in the Royal Chapel of St Anthony in Old Goa. He died in the Convent of Grasa de Goa on 27th May 1765.
