Fr Roque Xavier dos Martires was a native of Nachinola, Goa. He worked in the Church of Curca, Goa and started the construction of the new building of the Curca Church. He then worked in the Church of Siridao and later was the Spiritual Director of the Seminary of Our Lady at Saligao, Pilerne, Goa. He died on 29 July 1991.
