Frei Jacinto de Santa Rita was known as Jacinto Baptista. He was the son of Joao Baptista and of Margarida Josefa from Satarem, Parish of Nossa Senhora de Marvila. He occupied various posts in the congregation. He was elected Provincial of the Congregation. He worked in the Royal Chapel of St Anthony in Old Goa. He died in the Convent of Grace de Goa on 9th January 1787.
