Brief Historical Background:
The Congregation of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales, also known as the ‘Fransalians’, was founded by Fr. Peter Mary Mermier in France, in the year 1838, adopting the way of St. Francis de Sales. In 1845, six of them landed in Pondicherry and spread out from there. Today the MSFS Congregation has five Provinces in India. The charisma of the Congregation includes apostolate for the renewal of Christian life, pioneering evangelization and the education and formation especially of the young.
