The story of the house is a unique one, The house was originally purchased by 2 brothers in 1886, One of them,  Cosme Damiao Noronha became the sole owner of the house and property in 1888 due to passing away of the other brother. He has 10 daughters and the house was inherited by his youngest daughter, Quiteria at her marriage to Damiao da Costa from Curtorim in South Goa. He being a timber merchant renovated entirely the roof of the house in 1930. They had 2 children, a daughter, Estefania who married George Peres Da Silva and a son Fr. Cosme Jose Costa S.F.X. On the death of Estefania in 2006, her family and brother donated the house along with the surrounding property and furnoture to the Goa Province of the Pilar Society.

The donation of the house and property were accepted by Fr. Galdino Monteiro SFX as the provincial in 2010. Since then extensive renovations have been carried out transforming it into 5 self contained rooms. Along with the music school, the house is also the location of the day care center called ‘Joie de Vivre’ for senior citizens set up under the Ummid scheme of the Goa Government.

Fr Kyriel D’Souza as the Provincial of Goa has established a community under the Anjuna Local House. Fr Michael Rebello and Bro.
