In 1997, sensing the need for skill based education, The Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (S.F.X.) was set up in Curchorem. When it was set up, The Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (S.F.X.) was the pioneer institute offering hotel management courses in South Goa. Located in the rural belt of Goa, it caters to a majority of the students from the remote areas and the skills developed at the institute have helped its students gain employment in India and abroad.
The Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (S.F.X.)was the first hotel management institute affiliated to the Board of technical education in Goa. The institute offers a three year diploma graduate programme, three year diploma programmes, One year diploma programmes. The institute caters to 120 students every year.
The Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (S.F.X.) was founded in 1997 by the Pilar fathers and is run by the Xaverian Education Society of the Goa province of the society of Pilar. The Institute is a Christian Religious minority educational institute.
On the 24th of January, 2015, The Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (S.F.X.) in Curchorem completed 18 successful years. The institute is a a huge opportunity especially to youth based in the Quepem and Sanguem talukas to acquire practical skills which are much in demand in the hospitality industry in Goa and elsewhere. The Institute specially caters to drop outs from education who can learn new skills and get back onto a successful career.
